The former editor of Yoga International and Yoga Journal magazines, Linda has been teaching, talking and writing about yoga for more than 20 years. Certified at the 500-hour level through OM Yoga in New York City, she specializes in yoga for women's health issues and in bringing the deeper teachings of yoga to bear on our everyday lives.

She honors the many teachers who have had a profound influence on her life and her teaching including Cyndi Lee, Sarah Powers, Patricia Walden, Sharon Gannon, Vanda Scaravelli, and Stephen Cope. Featured as a leading expert on yoga in the film YogaWoman, Linda is the author of several books, including A Woman’s Book of Yoga and Health, and Yoga: A Yoga Journal Book.

The old story goes that if a lute string is strung too tight, it will break; strung too loose? No sound comes out. Harmony happens when the strings (or our bodies) are wound not too tight, not too loose. In this moderately paced class, come explore the balance between effort and surrender through a combination of dynamic, energizing poses and more receptive ones designed to strengthen and enliven your body while inviting your mind to share in the experience.

Private One-on-One Sessions

Linda offers private yoga sessions, at your home or in her home studio, or via Skype if you wish. Each session may include mindful asana, gentle pranayama and meditation techniques, as well as discussion and journaling — whatever serves your needs.
